For years people have wondered where had the glamour gone in Hollywood. It had always been right in front of them.
Winona Ryder mixes beauty with grace and is just as comfortable in an evening dress as a pair of jeans. But more than just that, she is the best actress of her generation (in my humble opinion). If you haven't seen her in one of her many period pieces, I suggest you rent one. If you have, then you see how she seems to have been born in turn of the century England in Dracula or 19th century New England in Little Women. And her modern pieces strike the same cord. Whether it's Reality Bites or Boys, her aura is unexplainable.
To a Hollywood fast crumbling with bad acting and even worse behavior, here is to a woman who is the last movie legend.

When you hear her music, it's hard to pinpoint exactly where it fits in the cultural spectrum we call Mtv. Her voice can be soft and alluring, then cutting and violent. Her songs bring out the modern beat of techno, yet some are remenicent of the swing era of the 1940's. It is this variety that makes Bjork's new album, Homogenic, another favorite. SHe stays with her old beats, but also branches off to my types of music she never has tried before. Listen to it, buy it. And if you like it, try her some of her other albums, such as Debut or Post. You definitely won't be sorry.

As 1997 draws to a close, many wonder what is waiting for us in the new millenium. 2000 is only about two years away, what will that mean to all of us?
